Sunbathing.

5 Days into Kirsty's life and she had jaundice. Even term babies can get this but in her case this was more of a problem.

I was allowed to bring Lisa down to the baby ward in a wheel chair. But they are very hard to push!

At this stage she was doing quite well. The pipe into her nose is now just forced air. She is off the ventilator.

The pads around her arms stop her pulling the tubes etc out.

Foaming at the mouth.

We were alarmed to see that Kirsty was foaming at the mouth was something wrong? Was she brain damaged?

The forced air (NCAP) makes the saliva bubble and froth. Then it dries in like a white ring. It does not look very nice but there is nothing wrong. In fact removing this is one of the cares you may be able to get involved in.

First Nappy Change.

Forget sky diving if you have never changed a small babies nappy this can make your nerves on edge!

Will you damage her? Actually small babies are more robust than what a lot of people think.

You still think that you might "break them though" but no worries there.
